TC help from a roll?

I am pretty much maxed out on what I want to do to the motor right now. The only thing I have put off is a TC. Do they help any if racing from a roll? I was looking at a 2400-2800 stall. I do not have any plans to run nittos or sticky tires in fear of breaking my rearend.

Even with the mods in sig my friends completely stock 03 Z06 walks away from me

The TC will definately help all around. From a roll it will flash nicely to help throw you forward right off the downshift. As for whether it'll help you beat the Z06, I doubt it. Those things are no joke. They make many of us look bad...

BTW, I recommend at least a 3000 stall. The rating on the stall is the trans braked rating, meaning that you'll never even get close to that stall speed by just holding your brake pedal. I have a 3000 stall, and I can stall it up to about 2200-2300 before the tires start to spin... If you want any higher than that, get an even bigger stall...

With a good torque converter you should most likely be able to take him from a stop, 3:73's would probably help some more. From a roll though a manual usually has the advantage, I don't know if it will help you there. It is sick that those ZO6's can pull high 11's with one or two boltons and set of drag radials isn't it.

Damn I want one

Well, I am going to buy one even if I don't know exactly what I need.
I have read that a dyno graph helps in the selection. I will call the popular companies and see who can offer suggestions.

I can tell a NX kit is in my future. If so; I am not going to tell him until after I blow his doors off or at least blow my motor. There goes another 2 grand. Nothing like having a buddy with a faster car than yours.. It's a fun hobby though.
