Anyone know what kinda power a t56 can handle? Im talkin gears and synchronizers

the 94 and previous years can handle 400 lbs of tourqe and the 95 and above can handle 450.

Actually, the factory ratings are 93 M28 - 360 lb-ft; 93 M29 - 400 lb-ft and 94 and up 450 lb-ft. But many people have exceeded this.

A buddy of mine pushed 750 flywheel HP through a stock T56. rkrause (moderator on this forum) pushed 800 HP through his. My setup (800 HP/800 lb-ft) was originally a T56, but I saw limited track time.

Im trying to build a decent drift car out of an fbody, mostly becuz I hate mustangs and imports so im lookin at a goal of 380 rwhp so the tranny will be pretty well hammered on so what upgrades are available or does anyone have a better suggestion for a type of manual tranny, car is an auto right now

Your problem will not be the power capacity, it will be the life of the synchros and blocker rings, and maybe the forks. There are upgrade parts available for all these components. Try D&D Performance:

Thanx ill check them out. Looked at a hurst tremec t5 but no way am I blowin my budget on that
