T56 conversion

i am doing a T56 conversion on my 93...well, i cant find any damn documentation on anyone doing a 93, just 94-97(which ive been using)...but more specifically the electrical. ive got a 5 wire connecter that went on the 700r4 for the vss gear, but the pigtails i bought for the t56, not one has 5 wires.. if anyone has any experience doing a 93, i would greatly appreciate talkin with ya through pms or whatnot.

Question Re: T56 conversion

Have you found the answer to this one yet? I'm doing a t56 conversion on my 93 and was wondering about the 5 wire connector. I assume it will just hang there. I don't think it's for the VSS, the rear connector with 2 wires is for the VSS, or so I assume.

I need to find out how to hook up the Reverse Lockout... in the tutorial it says to tap into a certain wire into the PCM, but that is on 94-97s, 93 PCMs are different.

Anything on this? Thanks

Re: T56 conversion

I just finished my t56 conversion a few weeks ago, with help from my buddy of mine. I didn't use the 5 wire connector. I just tucked those wires up out of the way. You are right about the VSS connector. I didn't worry about the reverse lock out connector. I hope this helps ya if you have anymore questions let me know.

Re: T56 conversion

yep, the 5 wire connector just got zip tied outta the way..the reverse lockout i didnt bother with...i can mustle through it, it only takes about 60lbs...not enough to throw it in on a race situation, but enough for me to put it in to go in reverse. and i did figure out the VSS thing...it was that connector you referred to...and holy jesus my car is just so much more fun...i really can feel SOTP power because ever since i had my blower on, it roasted auto's and they just slipped and slipped...its fun breakin them loose in 3rd

Re: T56 conversion

im thinking about doing the same thing with my 93. went to the track last night with a bigger shot, went 11.1 @ 123, 7.2 @ 99. my 1/8th mile mph was 3mph higher than last time i ran and i gained nothing at the end in the 1/4. so my 4L60 is slippin like a ****. i have 3.42s and at the end of the 1/4 i was at 6600rpm's it is slipping so bad.

Re: T56 conversion

for a track oriented car, id stick with the auto...maybe look into a TH350/400 setup?

Re: T56 conversion

Hey, did yous 93 guys ever have a problem with the VSS on your T56 trannies? The reason I ask is because I got mine from a 95Z and the VSS is a little different than my 93. So my speedometer is always pegged.

Any info on this would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: T56 conversion

yes, i thought it was odd aswell, but the 700r4 in the 93's dont send the same pulse signal as the 94-97 4l60e's...a t56 swap into a 94-97 would show 17/40 of your actual speed.

easiest thing to do if your relatively stock is get a mail order tune that is programmed with the 6spd bin file...biggest problem i had regarding that is a little 40 mile drive equated to about 1200 odometer miles so my car depreciated slightly but was fine once i burned the new chip in
