switching from a 97 4l60e to a 96 4l60e...

My 97 T/A's tranny just crapped out and I have a 4l60E from a 96 lined up so I was wondering if a 96 will bolt directly to my 97 and if not what do I need to get it to work?

I kind of have the same question. I have a fully built with stall 96 4L60-E tranny I want to put in my 94 trans Am. And then we would put the 94 stock tranny in his 96 Z28.

Is there going to be any problem since his car is OBD2 and mine is OBD1?

I think the only difference is between the LT1 and LS1 transmissions. If you stick with an LT1 4L60E wether OBD1 or OBD2 I think you'll still be fine.
