Streetable stall speed

Anybody running a 4200-4500 stall on the street. Any problems you would care to share?

Everybody is different, what I may find intolerable, someone else may find acceptable or even enjoyable. For example, some people run on the street with an open exhaust. I could tolerate that for maybe three minutes before I put a muffler on.

So, with that in mind, mine stalls at 4,200 w/o the N2O. I haven't tried it with the N2O (except at the track using the two-step). It's fine for the kind of recreational street driving I use the Camaro for. I am not sure I would find it acceptable on a daily driver, especially if I had to do much stop and go. It creeps along ok, but it's hard to modulate in relatively "fast" stop and go. Tends to lag behind the rest and then surge forward when the revs rise.

How high a stall were you thinking of?

I am on the fence. I am adding nitrous this winter, going to a taller tire, and changing my cam, AFR 195 heads with rev kit, and swapping in TH400 transmission. I find it hard to predict but was thinking 3800-4200. I was thinking with the nitrous on a window switch at 4200-4400 and a 3800 stall I could get off the line without undue spin and avoid more complicated electronics. I may be fooling myself that I will put the street tires on it for a couple of weekends in the summer but I would like that option.

daily driver = NO higher than 3600 IMHO
recreational street car = 4200.....a bit more if u want but after driving a 4200 stalled car for a couple days, i can tell u it is a LITTLE irritating....
