stock rear end c-clip

Okay how does the c-clip fall out in a rear end? I just bought a new c-clip and took apart the whole diff, all seems to fine nothing broken, put the new clip in and put it all back together. Now after a week my driver side brake is squealing and sure enough the axle will put out again and obviously the clip fell out. But this is only on the drivers side. It did this once already now it is here again. I just notice this cause the driver side brake squeals all the time, then I know to check the axle.

The way it has to be installed, I would say it is impossible for it to fall out.

yah that is what i thought too but after taking it apart i seen that the way it goes together, but the clip was on the bottom on the diff. Looked worn down so i put a new one in. And wham week later again the drivers rear brake is squealing, so take off brakes and sure enough the axle pulls out again. The center pinion shaft does not appear to be worn and is a bugger to stick back in. So its good. And the axles arent busted, the ends that connect to the pinion shaft seem to be fine. So i dunno there must be just enough play between the pinion shaft and the axle that lets the c clip move out from inside the spider gear and slip out. But only the drivers side. Passengers it perfectly fine.
