I've run the Yank SS 3600 myself for the last 6 years. It's a proven performer and very efficient. works very well with the LT1. The so called stall wall can be taken care of with a tune.

Yea i hear good things about the yank ss 3600 use guys think that would be too much stall for me tho daily summer car? not much highway driving tho. think i would be disapointed with a vigilante 2800? thanks.

Re: stall

you haven't stated you're intended use of the car !
dragstrip ? 'streetfighting' ? autocross ? roadracing ?
2400-2800 range would be dissappointing after a while. 3000-3600 would be a good match for 3.73s'.
you would also have to add a suppementary trans oil cooler.
3.73s' are a good gear for automatics.

the consensus rule of thumb for a convertor,"whatever size you think is best for you,go more"
wanting a 2800 means you'll regret not getting a 3200,or a 3500,or 3600.
go get/take some rides in variously stalled cars.

I agree, I was afraid just to put a higher one in. The converter builder talked me into a 3000. After two years I decided to go bigger with a 3600 which I just had done for this year, after driving the 3600, there is very little difference with normal daily driving over the 3000. Totally different story at the track though. Now I wish I went with a 4000.

Re: stall

yea thanks for the replies. did you have to get a tune when going to 3600? im not worried about the size of the stall driveability wise as much as not being able to tune it for the 3600 with the ob1 pcm problems with higher stalls.

Re: stall

Yes you will need to get it tuned for just about any size converter larger than stock.
