Spec IV clutch review
Just got back from the initial test drive with my new spec IV. It drives exactly like my stock clutch did
I just took it for a spin around the block really, driving easy and shifting through the gears. Take offs were smooth, shifts were crisp.
Im already used to having to rev my car a bit and ease out the clutch because of my cam not having much bottem end, and again i felt no difference.
Remember i only have about 10 miles on it, so things could change, will keep everyone posted

Initial break in is over, so i decided to see what she was made out of
With my old clutch, hitting 2nd hard i could break the tires loose abit, and if i was really running good chirp 3rd.
With the new stage 4, stide stepping into 2nd puts me sideways into the other lane, third gets squirelly, and 4th gets a nice chirp
It still is very driveable, hasnt changed any since right after it was installed. My only worry is that my stock drive shaft and rear end may not be up to the task of my new cam/heads package with this beast.
But there is no question if i am nice to it, it will not destroy my stock ones before i am ready to dish out the cash for a 12bolt.
Im very happy and would recommend this clutch to anyone with a mildly to heavily modded car, and it seems to be a good alternative to the street twin.

I want to give my ideas on the stage 4 as well. I did a 6 speed conversion. This is the first stick car I have owned in about 10 years. So I figured if I was going to have to get use to using a clutch again, then a stage 4 was as good as any. Being I didnt have a certian pedal feel that I was use to, I assumed I would just relearn the feel with a stage 4. Big mistake, I had it in for about 3 weeks, just changed it last night to a stage 3. The stage 4 was a on and off switch. You were either moving or you werent. The stage 3 is alot more forgiving, with the dampner springs it is easier to release, and it dosent just ENGAGE like someone pushed the on button. Its just my input, and I thought some of you might be interested.

Mine was very on/off ish. And I put about 700 miles on it. So it wasnt just break in time. Figure with trying to teach my wife to drive a stick, the stage 3 would be a bit easier on her. But who knows why mine was like that, I do know it was setup correctly. I did it myself
I loved my SPEC4 till i took it to the track and had slipping problems when i would shift (no problems on launch). So I took it easy on if for a few hundread more miles then took it back to the track and got one decent run in (bogging hard off the line with 3.23s) then went for my second run and ripped the rear yolk apart in the rear end. I suspect it was from my 4000rpm dump from the run befor, it my have cracked the yolk. But the first run I got tire spin into 4th gear. So its gripping like crazy now. Dont know what was up with it the other day. But I hope that gives you some insight on it. I would recommend getting a 12bolt or a 9-inch befor trying any nasty clutch dumps on it

After driving this clutch in heavy stop and go Kansas City traffic, i cannot recommend it to anyone who has to drive in similar.
After about 45 minutes it really heated up, started groaning and acting strange. After it cooled down it was fine again, but it would not be a good situation if you got caught in prolonged stop and go driving.
And after launching this clutch at the track with street tires, this clutch really demands some sticky tires and a 12bolt.

well, sounds to me like a good clutch...
dreamer...how modded was that car? maybe it wasn't producing enough hp to need a strong clutch like that? i think that clutch shines 450+
