Does anyone know where i can get a slap shift, like in the new 2006 eclipses? Is there anyway to hook one up to a 1997 camaro?

Re: slap shift

I think the closest you're gonna get is a manual valve body.

Re: slap shift

slap shifters are like everywhere, if you want the eclipse one you'll need to hack it out of an eclipse, but those stock ones are usually a lot crappier than any run of the mill B&M shifter, and B&M has some kits to help the install.

or you could find one in an old muscle car and fit it to a 97, those things aren't like new or anything, but that's only for relics sake, the aftermarket is far cheaper and cooler, when you consider the time finding one of those old dual gated shifters, +they're a pain to get used to.

same slap shift is accomplished by any one of many aftermarket ratchet and drag racing shifters, usually your transmission follows the shift immediately, and you can punch them as hard as you want, they're like craftsman tools, you aint gonna break it

but if you want a manual transmission then go with the manual valve body, however i like my shift kit, because i can put it in drive on the street and it follows the shifter at the track
