Shudder under load

I recently started having a good deal of shudder under WOT load or even upon a healthy 1-2 upshift. At first I thought it was rearend related. There is a little slack in the gear (so a little backlash clunk) and an leaky u-joint was replaced. Of course that isn't the issue.

This shudder feels like a very very fast wheel hop. It even feels like TCC shudder that you have on these multidisc converters but stronger. The tranny is fairly fresh (thanks to a busted input sprag last year) yet i do notice a smell to the oil

Running an EVA, the driveline was targeted but I'm still not sure of that diagnosis. Possilbly a sort of resonance of the torque, worn busshings an maybe need of new dampners??

So what are the guesses. I'm worried that the transmission is the culprit since it feels like amplified TCC shudder like you feel while barley tipping into the throttle in OD at highway speeds on a multidisc TC

This is a 96Z BTW

Just for the record, forward piston grenade. Line pressure was dropping as the rpms increased

Re: Shudder under load

I suddenly started with the same symptoms last night. I am going to give Frank at CPT a call. Hope it is not too expensive
