Those of you running a TH350/TH400... how are you setting your shift points without the use of the PCM? I am not going 4L60E in the Firebird. I'd like to run the car on a brake if at all possible for the track. Are you guys shifting manually with a ratchet or shift points the old fashioned way?

to shift manuallt I believe you would need a manual valve body in the trans to make it work the way it should. else the th350 used a vacuum modulator for the shifting of the motor instead of the TV cable like the 700r4 or computer on the newer styles.

if your going to use a trans brake most bodys for brakes are manual anyway.

What do you have invested for the transmission and supporting mods?

I went all out on mine so theres a big price diffrance, my trans and converter alone was 2800. BMR trans crossmember was 170, almost 200 for the speedo pick up and reluctor wheels to make an electronic speedo work with the TH400, + 200 for a shifter, odds and end bolts. 620 for my Spohn top gun drive shaft, you need a chassis mount torque arm if you dont have one already, I have a spohn on mine witch was 470, a new dip stick witch I got from madman racing, I forget what I paid for that, and Im sure Im missing some things here, over all I know i have over 5000 into the th400 swap.
