My buddy has a chevelle and he has a full manual valve body with a B&M ratchet shifter. I think this make the car a tone of funny to drive! Well i just blow my tranny today and i was woundering if there is anyway i could make a ratchet shifter work in my car? I know it can be done because i have seen someone with it before but i dont remeber where.

 

yes i did a search BUT which on can i buy?? Do i just buy the B&M Mega ratchet shifter and just modify it to fit?

 

i used the B&M hammer with a TCI racebuilt 700-r reverse manual valve bodie

 

I dont think the 4L60 likes to be manually shifted, im sure if rebuilt right you can do it. But stock its not good to manually run the gears.

 

no you dont want to be shifting the 4l60, if you plan to be shifting you need to have the trans built for it and you have to do it all the time no more automatic shifts

 

You can actually upshift them without problems, but don't downshift them.

 

I used a B&M hammer in mine to but I have a TH400 with R/manual and a trans brake.
