parts recomendation for tranny build

ok, here's the setup. 383 forged crank/hbeam rods/srp pistons/hellfire rings. 233/239 cam. ported heads (250ish flow). and all bolt ons. other mods are 12" 3000 stall, 3:73 gears, et streets/draglites, boxed rear control arms, !front sway bar, rear air bags. like this the car has already gone 12.09 @112 with a 1.7x sixty. I will be changing a few things this year, poss. removing the a/c system, front bumper support, cruise, and hopfully geting some QA1's. cause my car showed no weight transfer on even all my 1.7x runs. as in the front end hardly raised at all watching the video. now, I put the engine together to run on nitrous and eventually I will add it, but not for a while due to funds. will be around 200-300 HP shot. prolly more like the 200 though cause that should be plenty to run low 10's Id think.

so the question is, can a 1989 700r4 be built to handle low 10's? or is high tens pushing it? and Im lookin for a good parts recipe that I can put together (since I cant afford to buy a built tranny). after reading alot of info on this forum, Im rethinking putting in my th400 I got from a buddy (mainly just becasue of the overdrive factor).

Im sure this thread could be useful to alot of other people like me who want to do there own work. and, Im looking for a source for the parts also once I know what I want to put in it.

th400 will be your best bet. your avatar shows the car on a trailer. if it spebds a lot of time there, go with the th400.

well, its more of a street car. I'll prolly take it to the track 5-10 times if Im lucky this year. future plans for alot more racing, but no time/money for it more then that this year.

I don't have a full parts list, but check out the link in my sig, that has most of the parts put into my tranny. They will be the same for your 700r4, also read the sticky above, all the 4l60 info is good for your tranny too (except the electronic stuff of course).

I'd say you can run a nice 4l60 w/ that setup as it seem's to be a lil more mild than wild...
