"Normal" noise?

with the engine running and the trans out of gear and clutch pedal released i hear what sounds like a bearing noise from the trans. it speeds up as the engine does. ive heard that this is normal.

but is it also normal that it gets worse as i feather the clutch when leaving a stop? even after i get up to speed i can still hear it.

im assuming its the input bearing since it goes away when i press the clutch (clutch and input shaft stop spinning). am i onto something?

I could very well be wrong, but to me that sounds like the throwout bearing. Ive heard with heavier duty clutches a small whine from them is normal especially with kevlar clutches for some reason. When it starts screaming like a banshee is when its time really start worrying about replacing the t/o bearing, had that happen in my old firebird, thought my ears were gonna bleed on the way to the garage lol.
