My "Little" rear end....

So here we go...
First question... My Rear end only took 1 and a half quarts of gear oil...
Second question... There is a whole on the cover, is this the fill hole?
Below are pictures.

The fill hole is on the passenger side of the housing. The stock cover doesn't have a fill hole or a drain hole. Sounds like you may have an aftermarket rear cover.

**** is definitely aftermarket, Boss. How can I show you the pictures? ****..
Does it seem strange that it only needed one and a half quarts?

Which hole did you use to fill it? Maybe the fill hole in the aftermarket cover is lower than the one on the side of the housing? Of maybe the aftermarket cover is a bit flatter than the stocker. The owners manual indicates the capacity as 3.5 pints, which is 1.75 quarts. So you are about 8 ounces off.

Hmmm. The whole on the cover is a lot higher.. almost 2 inches. I have been driving it around, and it feels VERY solid compared to before I changed it.. (There was a leak.)
Hmmm I guess I should be good then. THanks man.
One of these days you have to tell me how you know so much :P
