Master Cylinder shaft isn't long enough?
 

I just replaced the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and reservoir in a full set from AC Delco on my 95 z28. It appeared to be the same but once fully installed the clutch pedal is about 2 - 3" away from previous position (in line with brake pedal) and the clutch doesn't fully disengage when pushed to floor. I read some reviews that said that they had to "extend the master cylinder"?? but I'm not to sure what that entails. If anyone has encountered this problem feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Just a heads up - not a lot of people left on this site, fortunately most of them are 4th Gen owners. May take a while to get responses.

If anyone else runs into the same problem, I fix it by cutting the shaft and cutting thread on both ends. Then put a coupler nut and two jam nuts on either side so it could be the perfect length/adjustable. Worked fine and had no problems with over 1000 miles of driving.

Update: My pedal felt a little off when getting towards the floor and it looked a little lower than normal even when untouched. I got under the dash and saw that one of the jam nuts had came lose. I adjusted the coupler nut to give the pedal the proper height and retightened everything. I suggest either really cranking down on them (which is hard when still under the dash) or potentially using something like Loctite. My car does have a look of vibration which could be cause for this but either way.
