M6 Tranny Seal Replacement

Hi, I need to change out the rear tranny seal(M6) where the driveshaft goes into. I just bought this car used and the guy already had the GM seal and some tranny fluid, so I dont have to buy that atleast.

Is there anything special tips, tricks or anything I need to watch out for when changing this thing or does it just pop right out and I just pop the new one in?

Thanks,
Charlie

Well, the old seal came out easy, but I am running into a problem with getting the new one in. I cant for the life of me get that thing to seat in there. I have been trying to get it in for 2 hours and have bent 2 seals. I have tried a big socket seated over the seal, as well as every other possible thing I can think of to get this thing in. It is like only 3/4 of it will go in and there is always one side of it sticking out.

Is there a special tool I can get somewhere to get this thing in. I dont have a lift, so room is pretty tight.

Thanks,
Charlie
