LT1 T56 Clutch fork measurement
How far into the bellhousing should the clutch fork rest when properly installed?
I'm chasing down clutch issues, just bought McLeod adjustable master and metal slave cylinder. Went to bolt up the slave cylinder and the rod does not reach the clutch fork when the slave cylinder is seated against the spacer. Pulled the spacer back off and noticed the clutch fork is sitting back into the bellhousing a little ways and will freely move fore/aft about the distance that should disengage the clutch.
I've pulled the transmission twice now and yes, the pivot block is installed correctly and fully seated. Clutch is a Spec Stage 3+. Is it possible for the pressure plate to become jammed in a partially disengaged position?

Transmission is back on the ground. Clutch disc was installed correctly. Beginning to thing it's a pressure plate or throwout bearing problem, though nothing jumps out at me.

Something was definitely wrong with the pressure plate. First, it was warped. Wouldn't sit flat on the fab table in the shop. Second, there was an uneven wear pattern on the surface of it where it had obviously slipped at some point. Got the replacement pressure plate next to it and measured the height of the throwout bearing and it was over an 1/8" shorter. Once everything was reinstalled the clutch fork seemed to be in the correct position again. Working on getting the hydraulics installed now.
