Which launches harder..camaro w/ 9 inch w/ slicks, or awd EVO

I have a buddy with a 350 whp EVO who is thinking that he is going to win at the track. This has been a **** talking contest for the past few months, and has started to aggravate me. Heres the issue. I broke my 10 bolt last week and am buying a new moser rear end unit tommorrow. Im undecided whether to go with a 9 inch w/ 4.11's or a 12 bolt with 4.11's. Anyway, weve decided that street racing probably wouldnt be the smartest way to do it, so were going to the 1/4 track at Bandimere, which is about 5,500 feet above sea level. So heres my question, will a procharged f body making 380 - 400 corrected WHP beat an EVO with 350 corrected WHP, provided i have weld prostars out back with 26x10x15 mickey thompson et drags and skinnies up front. I will also be getting a new clutch before the race, probably a spec stage 3+. He seems to think he will beat me out of the whole even with the slicks, but i'm pretty sure he cant outlaunch a RWD car with a 9 inch/12bolt and 4.11's with a strong clutch. What do you guys think?

i got my $$ on the camaro.
out of the hole, i think u'll get him. I can get wrx's out of the hole, even with their awd when my car was stock.

with the slicks and either 12 or 9", i think you'll get him out of the hole. most evo drivers i have ran into. I take that back. Most Evo and wrx drivers i have ran into arent very good at launching their cars. then again, maybe i've only met the crappy drivers.

and you'll def. get him in the 1/4

Your gonna eat his lunch out of the hole. A good rear/clutch with slicks... 4000rpm launch.... Should be pretty straight foward, assuming you don't bog it out of the hole. But then again, who races to the 60ft mark anyway. Maybe you two should sign up to be on Pinks.

Your 1/4 mile time is mostly all in how you do in the 60ft. The 60ft is all that should be considered, if you want fast times. You high hp cars make up for 60 ft times with high hp

My vote is on the Camaro. Maybe you should've made this a poll as well. Let us know how it goes.

I vote for the camaro... I out launched an EVO this weekend on MT ET radials and I'm barely learning how to use them... I still spin a lot. He was faster than me at the end

definately camaro. remember, it took car and driver 13 times to get 2 good launches out of the evo. you should stick it pretty well. 350 hp to the wheels on an awd car is like 320 rwhp to a rwd car as far as feel.

an engine making 350awhp on a dyno..would put down over 400rwhp in a rear wheel drive car. however...my car pulled a 392awhp STi..LE2 stock cai and TB. (from a roll of course)

At bandimere(5600 feet above sea level) i cut a 2 second 60 foot on street tires and a 10 bolt WITHOUT the supercharger. Now who knows with 9 inch and 4.11's and MT ET drags + 8psi....
