interesting tranny problem

Well I am have interesting delema I am not sure whats going on. So whats going on is when the car is cold or sat for a bit the tranny shifts good but it seems after I have a little fun in it, it requires allot of gas to even maintain 40mph like today going 40mph rpms were as high as 2200 rpms just to stay going that speed in (over drive). Im lost I was told that it could be the fact when the car warms up it feel like it has no power due to the failing opti on it so the car is lacking the necessarily tourq to move that tranny at any speed. so what you all think

Re: interesting tranny problem

is it possible that its just a bad tranny filter. A local shop told me that if your tranny filter is plugged up it could cause the same thing dose that sound plausible?

I won't say a filter is or isn't the problem, but I would be skeptical. There's one way to find out, though...

Exclamation Re: interesting tranny problem

well it cant be the cat because their isn't one and after driving it a little longer i pretty much have no 3rd or 4th at all 4th is completely gone because the rpms drop lower in 3rd than in 4th. this is extremely frustrating because I have no money so I don't no what to do. and something strange happend yesterday.

when i started it up in the morning to go to class I had all 4 gears and they all held great, but when the car got warmed up they were gone again so I am completely lost on what happend is it a solenoid?

I scanned my car with data master and their are no codes for the tranny so any thoughts?
