I need Backlash, and various other Rear-End SPECS

I did some searches and found information that varied from post to post, so I figured I better get it straight. So, I just got an auburn 3-series carrier, and a set of GM 4.11 gears are being shipped as we speak. I read up on all the threads warning about doing gear installs, and how tough it is to get right, which is why i'm not doing it...my brother the ASE master tech is. I wanted to gather any/all tq specs, etc we may need prior to the install. So if you guys could either post, or point me in the right direction to find:

Ring Gear Bolt tq specs
Pinion Pre-Load tq specs
Ring & Pinion Clearances (Backlash, pinion depth)

and anything else I may need that's prolly not printed in my crappy chilton, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Andrew

http://www.randysringandpinion.com/d...koninstman.pdf -- specs are at the end but they are for yukon gears. Don't know if that would be the same for GM gears.

My helms manual for 88 car said ring gear bolt tq should be 90 ft-lbs and pinion preload 24-36 in-lbs. This compared to Randy's manual: 65 ft-lbs and 12-15 in-lbs.

To do the job right, you will go by the drive pattern & not ihstall depth if you want it to live.
