How much power can a Stock clutch hold?
How much power can a Stock clutch hold?
Sup guys...my mods are in my sig, I recently got a new clutch (stock, had no choice) when I got an engine rebuild and now im almost ready to buy a 12 bolt with 4:10's....My question is how much can a stock clutch hold? cuz Im thinkin with DRs my clutch would be toast....
Re: How much power can a Stock clutch hold?
Well mine is toast.
You can always wait and see, just make sure you've got the money on hand for a new one after you burn it up so you don't have to wait and drive around on a chattering one like me. I would suggest the stage 3 clutch from spec, I just got mine in the mail today. It's got 6 pucks and 6 dual coil hub springs, pretty agressive. You might even want to take it to the stage 4 since you've got a 12 bolt, no need to worry about using springs to soften engagement if your drivetrain is already beefed up.
On another note the stock clutch can hold quite a bit of power, but I suspect that with your drivetrain mods it won't last through one launch.
