Stock Posi and 4.30 gears
Hey guys,
I used to have 4.10s in my '94....2 sets. Both eventually broke but both with abuse.
I have a '95 now and have 2 stock 3.42 posi diffs as spares. I can trade some parts with a buddy and he's willing to buy me some gears.
I am wondering how good the stock posi units are? Both my stockers seem to work good, but neither has ever had a set of 4.10s. The third diff I have had an auburn posi and those 4.10 sets. I have since traded that posi and bought a complete 9" for my '88. But the cost of anotherone on a daily driven lt1 is not an option right now.
From searching around, I am under the impression that US gear now makes 4.30 gears for the 7.5" 10 bolt. Is this true? If so, who can I order them through?
So to recap my questions:
1) is it a good idea to run the stock posi with aftermarket gears and maybe a 10 bolt alum. cover and studs for the caps.
2) where to get 4.30 10 bolt gears?
Thanks guys.
