i have a 94 firebird trans am. here in the past couple of days the transy has been weird. in thied gear it doesnt want to do anything. in first and second the gears are fine, but in third, you can take it to 5,000 rpm's and it doesnt do anything. if you have any advice please help me. if you want to get a hold of me quickly, write to my email. g_southerland_52@hotmail.com

what kind of trans? manual i'm assuming.

is it just third gear or is it third gear through sixth? is it grabbin at all in third or just when you put some gas to it. could be your clutch going out.

 

I assumed it was auto as I have the same problem right now. Nothing after 2nd gear. I don't do any work inside the tranny but I understand the 3/4 are grouped inside the tranny and they both go. I am pulling mine to have it rebuilt.

it is an auto. i talked to the mechanic and he said that my transy is shot. i am having to rebuild it. thanks for your advice. it just wasnt doing anything in third gear. it wasnt catchy or anything. it was that no matter what rpm's you got it up to there was no spped to go with it. again thanks i realy appreciate it.
