heat problem.. help?

ok a few months back i put my pro 5.0 in and all is great is was winter etc. there was some heat coming in around the stick and where the shift boot is but it was ok.. however, now its summer and there is way too much heat coming in, my lil cousin touched the stick one day and screamed cause it was so hot. ive noticed the heat and i dont htink its right, i know there will be some, but there was no where near this much with the stock shifter... ive asked a couple people who have em and they say theirs dont do it, SUGGESTIONS?????
