going to rebuild my t-56, how to make it stronger?

well ive got some apparent syncro probs, so im just going to replace everything i can while i have it apart. It seems a lot of guys reccomend D&D for the rebuild parts, but it says on their website they are all GM parts. Is this going to be just fine, or can i find someone that offers upgraded parts? the tranny is the last stock thing in my drivetrain, so id like to not have to worry about it at the track.

thanks,

-ryan

The t56 is a real strong tranny as it is, what hp you running? Its good for 4k drops all day w/ a 12 bolt. get a nice strong clutch, that thing aint gunna break unless you got upwards of 700 hp or something like that.

Not true. You can break the T56 with far less power. What will kill the T56 is low 60' times. You can have 1000 HP but if you are not putting the power to the ground and are spinning the tires then you will not break parts.

The T56 should be good untill you get around the 1.5 area in the 60'. Mine finally let go at the end of this season and I was running 1.52 - 1.53 60' times on average.

Output shafts are a common part that breaks. Especially with the combination of parts you are using (street twin, 12 bolt, slicks). For a good price, you can talk to Jordan Musser. He's a member on this site.
