front pump problems

i was installing a vigi on my new rebuilt tranny i got from LT1dave. and i didnt have the TC enguaged all the way, the TC started to press against the crank nub and while i was tightening it down, the trans wasnt sitting flush with the block..... i herd a loud "slap" i think the TC took a hard push into the crank nub and it made a sound... after that i stpped and took it off.... do you think i broke my front pump?

i took the tc off and made sure it was engued this time!!! and it installed fine and i can turn the converter now... but i'm worried about the pump!!

can i have the pump/pump housing replaced without rebuilding a new tranny?

Re: front pump problems

you can have the pump/housing replaced without rebuilding the trans...Most places will tell you to rebuild it if you've driven it. Chances that you've damaged it are slim as it takes a lot to break anything in there. They usually wear out first.

Well, if you havn't bolted it all up yet, play it safe and save yourself the time/money and have your builder look at it! You don't want to spend another G on rebuild if you don't have to.
