Five speed is dripping...

Ok, the 5 speed (nv3500) transmission in my Sonoma has been dripping for a while now. It seems to be coming from around the drain plugs. Whats weird to me is there are two plugs. One on the top and one below. Obviously one to fill and one to drain. I have already removed the top one and reinstalled it so it must be the bottom. If I replace it I will have to refill the transmission because fluid will get everywhere. This thing is only like a year and a half old. I'm thinking the shop cross-threaded the plug. So what should I do? Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks!
