Talking do I need traction control??

Well, with this 4L60E swap im doin, I dont have traction control in my car, or the performance shift button... is this something I will need? Or can I just program my car to always be in "performance Shifting Mode?"

I am gonna get a beefed up tranny, when I do, do I still use stock programming to run it, or not? What have you guys done with this? I have no clue about shift points, or line pressure, nothing! So, helpful hints are very much appreciated.

Thanks, and bear with me! Im sure I will have lots of dumb noob questions to come!

Re: do I need traction control??

Ok to answer the question in the title, that doesn't apear in the body of the thread, its up to you if you want Traction Control or not, if you car currently doesn't have it then I would not even mess with installing it, too much crap involved. You know it has nothing to do with the trany right...

As for the rest of the questions, you can program the normal shift tables to work as if the performance button is pressed.

Shift points and line presure are also up to you and your setup, they will change depending on the gears/tire size, cam, pwerband, and etc...

Line pressure also depends on what transmission work you have done and the tranny requirements...

Re: do I need traction control??

interesting. Yeah I know the traction control has nothing to do with the tranny! I was just wondering. Most people turn it off anyway...

So where do I get the stock tranny shift point tables, and the performance tranny shift tables, and what other people are using?
Thanks
