Dang It!! I think somethine is loose

Theory #1:Ok just finished 94 LT1 stroker. Recently I installed a transmission with a 3000 stall TC. I start the car and everything is fine. Things sound good. Now for the last couple of days when I start the car I hear this pretty loud clanking noises going on it seems like from the drivetrains. I have rulled out that I have internal issues becuase when I rev the motor up that noise goes away. To me it seems like I have something going with the flexplate. Its an SFI approved flex plate from B @ M. its a 163 tooth as well. So I had to upgrade to a bigger starter. Heres an interesting point. I have not yet tuned my car. So my car often Dies at stops after driving it. But when I re-fire the motor. I feel alot of jumping going on underneath the trans area. And I can't find where its coming from.

Theory #2 When I built my stroker I retained stock Oil pan and windage tray. I had to do some mods to the pan to get things to clear. NO problem. But Im concerned with the windage tray. I had to bend it downwards to get my 6 inch rods to clear. Im wondering during idol if my rotating assembly is hitting it. But how can that be if when I rev the motor up hard I hear no knocking at all. Its only during Idol

Thanks
Chris

Is it possible that you over tightened the flexplate? Maybe it had a hairline crack in it to begin with that you never noticed? To me it sounds like a flexplate problem. Sounds to me like it's cracked... atleast that is the same thing my car did when it had a cracked flexplate, making the ticking noise that went away with higher rpm.

check and make sure all the bolts on the flexplate are tight, and that there are no cracks in it

Ok I will check those things out. I should not have any issues with that flexplate. its brand new B and M 163 SFI flexplate. I have installed that flexplate once and just removed and replaced the trans and bolt on the TC. Flexbolts may sound loose based on your guy's synoposis. Thank you very much. Is it safe to rule out my theory #2?

If something internal was hitting it would not go away with higher rpm, so I would assume safe to rule out #2.

UPDATE: I have found the problem. It appears the the flexplate bolts on the crank were loose. Im going to slide the trans back and place some lock tite on the bolts.
Thanks
