Cpt dissolved ????
First and foremost, I would like to apologize to all of you proud camaro owners who are waiting on this "bulletproof" 4L60E. As a legitimate business owner of a reputible transmission company, it deeply disturbs me to hear that customers are waiting nearly a year for their product. Obviously, this is a GREAT WEBSITE for camaro lovers everywhere. However, their are some questionable business practices being performed by someone who is not qualified to run a business. Anyone can learn to build a transmission or to use a computer. On the other hand, running a business is a whole different story. There is more to running a transmission business than billet output shafts and .updated frictions. Whether it is convenient or not to the business owner, the customer always comes first!!!
As far as the lame BS you are all being fed, there is absolutely no excuses. As a business owner who receives payment from a consumer, it is your responsibility to accomodate the customer in any way, shape, or form. Whether you have a belly-ache, your cat eats your dog, or your hands fall off, you have an obligation to your customer to provide a product or service in a timely matter. If you can't accomodate this, then you should NOT take money from people.
I am assuming you all had to leave a deposit prior to the work, is that correct? Well I hate to tell you that that money was spent months ago, and now he can't afford the parts to fix your transmissions. No, a 4l60e does not take 11 months to rebuild. I don't care if your parts come pony express, to build a 4l60e on a bench should never take that long, unless you can't afford the parts.
As for CPT, this is not the glamorous R&D company that you've all been dooped into believing. This is an employee of another shop, who uses knowledge taught to him by others in the industry to rebuild transmissions on the side in his UNLICENSED garage behind a rental property. Anyone in the automotive repair industry knows there are certain unspoken rules and guidelines among mechanics and this is a major NO-NO! It is also a major conflict of interest in which his employer should be contacted immediately.
I hope this thread is not deleted by an administrator from this site. In no way is this a slap against the hardworking people of this website. It is a great website, and has very knowledgeable members who love their camaros. This is an ongoing issue with CPT and numerous members of this site. It is not an isolated issue and will not get resolved until these fraudulent activities are addressed properly.
Every honest, upstanding business owner has to have some form of ACCOUNTABILITY. Well, if some mechanic is undercutting the rest of us by doing jobs cheaper because he doesn't have the financial obligations of a normal business, or is not a member of the Better Business Bureauor ATSG, then where does the accountability come from.
In closing, I encourage immediate action. CPT should no longer be allowed to conduct business on this site. I urge all of you camaro lovers who have not received your product for which you gave money to this amateur business owner to contact the proper authorities as soon as possible.
We all love camaros and we all love this site. Their is power in numbers and I suggest you use that power before this crook skips town with your money. I also think this site needs a new, valid transmission specialist who has a BBB accredited company.
If anyone who has been affected by this needs help in reclaiming what is theirs, please PM me and I will offer to help in any way shape or form. Plus my 4l60E is just as good, reasonably priced and doesn't take 11 months to deliver. Imagine if he was doing the R&R work as well, it would be 6 years before your Camaro is back on the road!!!!!!
P.S. I bet Uncle Sam would like to know where his piece of the pie is as well.

Anyone that has been around a while knows, CPT isn't doing business here any longer. Seen any responses lately?
Who needs another person to point out the obvious? Everyone already knew CPT was a one man backyard operation. This was openly disclosed and nobody was duped into thinking otherwise. What's the point in stirring up the pot where the fire has already been extinguished?
Everyone that has a rod in this fire already knows their options.
IMHO, the veiled attempt to drum up business in this manner casts more suspicion than confidence. For someone with one post and no other informatiin, I wouldn't say you did yourself any favors.
There are tons of people out there that got their expertise from their job (or previous job) and do (for the lack of another term) "free enterprise" work on the side. That does not make them taboo to deal with. Everyone around here ought to be familiar with the "buyer beware" concept. That concept is especially well rooted in the auto industry.
I got nothing bad to say about the legit business, BBB or any of that. Same goes for a guy trying to make money on the side. Unless you are going to start your own task force to root everyone out, just leave it alone. The places that end up "staying in business" are the ones that deserve to. This stuff sorts itself out.

We gave CPT a chance to make good on the situation. While that was in process, it was agreed that all CPT advertising and sales activity was to be suspended until all situations can be righted. As that clearly has not happened, CPT has not been active from that point.
We appreciate receiving concern from an upstanding legitimate business. We have an open spot where CPT's support of this site was. If you are interested in filling it and showing this community what you can offer while enjoying great earning potential as a result, feel free to e-mail me directly at jason@camaroz28.com.
