Beefing up a 4L60E?
For a '95 Z28. What all exactly would I upgrade to beef the transmission up so it'll last awhile. My car is stock, btw.

How do you know if you have a 4l60e transmission? I have a 97 z28 that is an automatic. Does this come with a 4l60e? The shifter goes down to 2, then d, and then d, then N, then R, then P. Please Help?

The most common point of failure is the aluminum drum. Some fail even on a totally stock car. The 4L60E is in many ways an inferior transmission for hi-performance applications but they can be built to handle about 750rwhp good for mid 10's in the 1/4. I'm looking for some single digit times so I'm looking at a 2004R or a TH400 when the time comes.

Yeah, my 3-4 clutches aren't engaging at all. I put it in D and OD and 2nd is as far as I can go.
