They are more fun no one can deny that but if your lookin for speed then stick with the auto. It will make your car consistent and just as fast.

Its not a hard swap to do, its just time consuming is all. you can usually find someone in the classified section selling there 6 speed stuff. It'll usually cost in the neigborhood of $1500-2000. Another good thing about the 6-speed is you'll usually pick up gas mileage as well.

Re: automatic vs 6speed

Gas mileage is ALOT better with the 6speed. I had 4:10's in my auto about 5 months before I did the 6speed swap and it made a huge difference.
I agree with the previous responses, 6speed is more fun to drive but if you want consist or a better drag-suited car keep the auto.
Goodluck, nice looking car by the way

i recognize that auto is the way to go for the best et's, but for every day cruising and lapping days, nothing beats rowing through the gears in an f-body.

It is pricey to do it right and from the looks of your car you do things right. Figure between 2 and 3 grand for a factory appearing and running changeover by the time you're done with everything. I can also tell you that I haven't listened to anything other than Magnaflow music since I've had mine finished.
