A4 to M6 Conversion Help!

Alright, hey guys.

We have 2 cars. One is a 1994 Automatic and the other 1995 M6. We're swapping the manual out of the 95 into the 94. Well, we have a full writeup on the conversion, plus all the parts. Which, we didn't want to cut up 2 perfectly good wiring harnesses so we was just going to swap the '95's into the '94. Good plan right? Well, maybe not. We removed both harnesses and as we went over things, the '95 harness has an extra connector containing 2 wires. On the '95, this connector runs alongside the driver's side down to the nose of the car, and then goes back into the main harness. Where it goes from there, I don't know. Does anybody know what this is for? And can we just swap the entire harnesses from the '95 to the '94? Really, I'd hate to cut into these harnesses if at all possible to just swap them, one of the other. Btw, both cars are almost identical.

Both cars having the same options except as follows.

'94 - Automatic, Bose 3 speaker, Cloth Interior
'95 - M6, Bose 5 speaker, Leather

So really, I don't see how much of a difference it really would be. Thanks guys, let me know.

It should be either the skip shift wiring or the reverse lockout. There shouldn't be any real differences between the two harnesses. You may need a new oil pressure sender if the 94 was an early year car.

Good to know, and the car already needs a new oil pressure sending unit, my friend broke the original one when removing the automatic.

Does anyone know for sure? I don't think it's either of them. Like I said, this extra wiring goes into a connector that continues on to the NOSE of my '95. Where's the '94 doesn't have it at all. Plus, there's 8 wires on the '95 harness along with the extra connector that has 2 wires and 9 on the '94 harness. CAn someone help explain what I should be doing? And whether or not I should just go ahead and splice the 2 harnesses or if I can get by somehow and just be able to swap them. Thanks

After looking over the wiring diagrams, the extra connector supplies power to both of those 2 systems on the '95. And from what I can tell, I can just leave that unsupplied with power and not have to worry about those 2 systems right? I always dislike Cags and Reverse lockout anyways, and to think, it was just as easy as unhooking one simple connector thats been in front of my face this entire time.

I am understanding all of this right? I hope so. Thanks guys.
