I have a 1995 Formula A4, recently my A4 lost 3rd and 4th gear. I need a transmission rebuild, I've gotten quoted for 900-1500 dollars. Depending on what is broken.

I love manual transmissions and my previous car was a manual. I'd like to have the swap done to this car.

One of the shops I went to said they could probably do it for about 2,000. This was just a regular transmission shop.

What would be a good price to pay for this sort of thing? And are there any complications?
