4L60E noises

Hi,

Since I have owned my car (3 years, 5,000 miles) my transmission has been making almost like a whirring noise in first and reverse. It is only noticible with the radio off and windows up. Any ideas on what it could be/ severity of the situation? Thanks!

Something in the rear planetary. Most likely the bearing under the sun gear.
