When I first start the car and start driving there is one hard shift and I won't feel any shifting for the rest of my drive. Reverse works fine and I can manually down shift to second gear. If I switch from overdrive to drive it makes no difference so I think I'm stuck in third gear. I also think I'm stuck in third gear because at 65mph I'm hitting about 3000rpm. Any idea on what's wrong with it?

 

the camaro with the transmission issue is a 95 z28 camaro and i was wondering if it has to be rebuilt can i just swap the transmission with a transmission from a 95 v6 camaro? I'm wondering this because I have a spare camaro in my backyard.
