I would go back to the place you bought the rebuild. You should expect a direct bolt-in transmission when buying a rebuild.

if it was out of a early to mid 90's vette it won't work. I've been down that road already. i don't think 93-97 f-body will work either, but I'm not positive.

If it doesn't have the torque arm mount, it's probably not an f-body transmission.
Does your new transmission have a removable bell housing? If the input shaft the same? Does your new transmission have a bolt hole at exactly the 12 o'clock position?

yes it does have a removeable bell houseing and the hole in the center top is there it is a all around bell houseing i went back to the guy and he saked me to let him build mine in the car cause he didnt have the money to give back and i said ok but a couple days later i decided not to do that cause he already lied to me so i called him back and told him im gonna need the money back he said we dont do refunds if the trans is bad ill fix it it got pretty bad on the phone so im stuck with it or go over there and that will lead to trouble with my short temper well thanks for the help

You need to talk to the local Better Business Bureau (BBB) about this guy's business practices. This guy obviously “is not” a credible auto service facility and may already have complaints on-file with the BBB. What if you now have problems with the transmission (doesn't work correctly, or fails in a few weeks)?
