Question 4L60E or 700r4?!?!

I have a 1993 camaro z28 my transmission just recently went in it.. I have been told by several people that its the 4l60e and i have been told by several people that it is the 700r4... Does ne one out there know which transmission the 1993 actually had in them.. ive been looking all over the internet and it say the 4l60e didnt come out untill 1994 but i have also been told they used them some in the 93's.. Im working on my car myself and i just need to know which transmission i need to get to replace my old one.. Any and all help will be appreciated.. Thanks everyone....

I think they use the 4L60 in the 93.

Its a 700r4 people call it a 4l60 but thats only because of the unique wiring plug used in 93 only, It can be retro fitted to use the earlier plug .

So when ordering parts such as a torque converter, you would say you have a 700r4?

I believe the torque convertor is the same for the 700R4, 4L60, and the 4L60E.
