Well i checked it out, 1st gear will lose 4 mph compared to my current 4.10s and will also go up to about 2100 rpm at 70 compared to my 1850 now.

I run 4.33s in mine and its totally fine on the street. My only concern would be if you run at the strip. You either need RPM, a tall tire, or low trap speed to run that steep of a gear to go out the back door in 4th. I am wanting to run 120-122mph and I need 7000rpm and a 26" slick. Kiss traction goodbye though, mine doesn't hook up until after the 3rd gear 'chirp' on street tires.

You'd need at least a ~28" tire to get any real speed out of it!
I've got 4.10's in my car with the A4 and they work great :thumb:. Surprisingly enough, even with the low 12.55:1 first gear ratio (3.06 tranny X 4.10 axle), it hooks up pretty good off the line!! :D Even on street tires, it was hooking hard and bogging the engine! ;) |
