I've been driving stick for about a month and have gotten pretty decent, but this didn't seem normal. I took the car to the track last Saturday for the first time after the T56 conversion and had some problems shifting into 3rd gear whenever the car was at WOT.

I could shift the car from 2nd into neutral, but I couldn't push it up into 3rd. If I let the car spin down a little the gear will magically reappear and I can push the shifter up into gear.

Keep in mind this isn't powershifting, just WOT up to the shift point (~6K on the stock tach) let off the gas for a split second, clutch and shift.

What confuses me is that the tranny doesn't have this problem if I'm not punching it. I can have the throttle about 90% of the way down as I accelerate up to my shift point and still shift it without any problems, but that extra little bit into WOT seems to cause problems. Any ideas?

 

Your clutch isn't disengaging at high revs. It goes in after the ravs fall because they are low enough to match the driveline.

Probably a hydraulic problem.

Sometimes bleeding.
Usually a new master and/or slave.

 

Did you find a solution to this problem? Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
