2nd to 3rd shift problem A4...

I had my transmission rebuilt about 15000 miles ago, had the high performance rebuild kit on it.. Well now under WOT shifts to 2nd great and when it gets to about 6000-6100 in 2nd it seems to (slip or free rev to rev limiter at 6600) on the limiter for a second then shifts really sluggish.. I lowered shift points with lt1 edit many times, but doesnt even shift any sooner, kinda like its not working.. Any ideas? Temporary fixes? Thanks

what is the fluid condition and have you cecked the line pressure....sounds like the 3-4 may be working its way out but you need to check pressures first

well the fluid looks good, just changed the fluid and filter thought that might help.. Line pressure in pcm is set at 90psi and max 120.. Is that where i can check it? Also if it was getting warm would it have ruined it permeantly? Or if I can get the temp down will it be ok?

my tranny was slipping at high rpms and wouldn't shift on the 2>3. fluid was good and no burnt clutch smell. try lowering you shift points down some to see what happens, also try shifting it manually to see what is the highest rpm it will shift at. high temps kill these things pretty quick even though I have a regular cooler im going with one with a fan now. as we speak my trans is at the shop. the verdict as to what happened to it is not in but we'll find out soon. the unit had been rebuilt less than a year ago so it was still under warranty. my guess is heat damaged the clutches.

okay so it appears that the tranny is fine as far as clutches, bands, and servos go. the problem seems to be valve body related. they are currently going over it to check for internal leaks and valve issues. will keep everyone updated.
