1985 iroc z28 tranny identification

I'm buying that car and i need to know how to find out what tranny it has and what tranny option that year was best?

NON-WC T-5 w/ the 305 v8 or 700r4 4 speed automatic wtih the 305 or 350...If it is a 350, its a 700r4 unless they swaped a manual in. No thirdgen with a 350 came from the factory with a manual.
