what do the gtps have on us?
i dont know where else to post this so i figured it was the most appropriate here. i really dont know much bout the gtp (cept im guessing its the turbo charged version of the grand prix?). i stumbled upon a gtp forum and im under the impression these cars run low 12's on very minimal mods?? anyone have the specs on these cars, just curious. thanks

supercharged 3.8 v6. stock 2 doors can run as fast as mid 14's.
as far as them running 12's,thats not an easy proposition. of thye few 12 sec GTP's i have seen, most have swapped to a larger blower,or added nitrous and tons of bolt on's.

I have a friend with a 2 door gtp with a smaller pulley, downpipe, exhaust, a couple of other minor mods, and a 100 shot. I raced him tonite and he hung really well. If I didn't spin so bad I would have beat him relatively bad, but as it was, I got him by half a car. Stock he made 200hp at the wheels. So with the mods he should be around the power I have. Not to bad. But he has done all those mods and is that fast, and I am basically stock. Fast for what it is, but I'll take my car, problems and all.

I did the 3.25 pulley, offroad 3" downpipe, full 3" mandrel bent catback then split to dual 2 1/2" to dual Hooker aerochambers, fenderwell intake and made 233whp.
Heat is what kills performance on these cars. Engine temp and IAT. My first time at the track I ran 2 15.2s@91mph(with a 3.4), I let it cool for 30 min and ran 14.78@95. I let it cool for another 30 minutes and ran 14.64@96. I was still getting a little KR on the last 2 runs.
You could build a fenderwell intake for about $45.
Offroad DP for $300
3.0 pulley for $50
Colder plugs $15
Some 109 octane unleaded and cool weather and I believe you would see 260whp.
