Well if i could drive....what can my car run???
Well first of all i usually just street race. I normally race cars that range from 13.2-14.0 1/4 mile times. And i have yet to lose to a car that ran those times, ive even seen some of their slips.
Anyways, like i said i cant drive i guess.
So i went to the track Wed and they do hardly any prepping, plus i was on street tires.
So anyways most of my runs went like the following.(i gave my boss my slips cause he is posting them on the board at work to give me a hard time, so this is from memory though its pretty accurate)
Well on street tires i was spinning off the line all the way till 3rd. And my rear end was making a clunk when it would grab.
reaction .522
60' 2.9 or 2.8's all night i even turned a 3.02
1/8th is like 9-10.2 all night(sorry forgot the mph)
1/4 14.0-4
and the mph was usually 103-5(one run i passed at an amazing 92 mph cause i spun so much i had to let off like 3 times)
Well anyways with tires what do you think is possible. I know the car has ALOT more to get out of it. Atleast i hope.
I am hoping for 13.2 on a prepped track and tires. Do you think its possible?

What mods do you have? need some details here.
I have learned that cars dont run the same on the street as they do on the track. Even though you have beaten cars running those times doesnt mean you are really faster.
I had a Grand Prix GTP that ran 13.7's......and on the street i could beat cars that would run 12's on the track.
Your 60's are so bad,you cant really judge by the MPH what you would run.

First of all, you have to ease up on the launch.
With a street tire on the Z28, a 2.1 60 ft. is not
uncommom.
A stock Z28 with a good driver is known to run
high 13's with a manual transmission. Shift at
5200 RPM or thereabouts...
Play with your tire pressure. I have best repeatable 60' foot launches at 25 PSI on
both rear rears, and leaving the line at 1700
RPM. Mind you, my motor and car is different,
so you'll have to find the sweet spot.
Don't burn out your street tries, just do a little
dry hop and lineup in the burn patches of the
previous driver.
If you don't use a slick, you more or less have
to roll of the line easing into the gas pedal to
get a decent launch.
Practice makes perfect. My best on a street radial
turned out to be 1.99 60 ft. The car did a 13.2@105 for it's best ever.

take it easy on the 60' time. all most sounds like your jroping the hammer at 5k. Pratice makes perfect in this case. try taking off at different rpms intill you find a spot were the wont bog or spin but comes outand into your cars power band.
Well actually i was launching at about 1900-2000 rpm. It would either bog to hell and then when itd come alive it would spin. Or it would just spin all the way.
I played with tire pressure and it really didnt help too much. but i only went down to 22psi.
As for the mods, just CAI, headers(coated), y-pipe, off-road pipe, SLP 2OTL, 3" cutout, lt4 KM, !egr, free mods, SFC's, Eibach prokit, SLP take offs, and i was running on my ss rims 17x9.
I just really thought even on street tires i could have gotten a better time.
Oh well it was just for fun not a record.
Well i should have some new DR's coming in the mail, then all i need to do is install my 4.10's, my XE 236/242 112lsa, and get my boss to port my heads.
Then maybe some LCA's. And im sure after heads and cam a 12 bolt will be in the near future

There's a big problem with the tire profile.
You need a good side wall to make a drop in tire pressure effective. What do you have 50 series rubber now?
Once you get your DR, you'll blow your mind....but hopefully
not your ring and pinion set!
