I took my 95z 383 to the track on 7/15 for the first time to see what it would do and start getting it dialed in. For the first time out I was pretty happy. The car ran great and the driver (me) did ok too
.
Best run:
11.98 @ 115.28
1.60 60'
Time Slip ... scroll over and down to see the time slip. Dont pay attention to the reaction time... I wasnt trying to cut lights this time, just making sure that I had my rpms where I wanted before I left.
This was with no weight reduction. I wasnt able to weigh it (they had the scales closed), but it is a fully loaded t-top car so it probably weighs in around 3500 -3600lbs.
The car has a lot more in it, but I just didnt have enough time to get any more runs in. I made changes for before each run and it kept getting better, so next time I will pick up where I left off and hope to see some better times.
A little info on the car:
383 stroker
T-56
Strange 12 bolt w/ 4.11's
28x9x15 ET Drags
etc.

Was that 1.6 60' on the 11.98 run? Or was it your best 60' of the night?
Also, could you post the entire slip . . . just curious.
Thanks.

I will take a pic of the slip and post it up tonight if I get the time.

Wow! Very nice times. I'm super impressed with the 1.6 short time. 5500rpm dump eh?
I do have some questions about your suspension setup though. I have an 84 Camaro, with the adjustable Spohn TQ arm and a Ford 9" rear with 4.11's Previously, my best 60' was only a 1.67 due to slight wheelspin. I too used the 28x9x15 ET Streets. I'm swapping to a T56 in August.
What is your pinion angle, did you airbag the right side? I'd like the get the new T56 setup to hook, I'm just looking for some advice. Thanks in advance.
Makes me pretty excited to get the T56 going, I did a 7.45@92.87 in the 1/8 with a TH350/3000 stall on the aforementioned 1.67 60' time. I'm thinking that if I could replicate that awesome 1.60 time you have then hit the gears in the T56.....hello 7.20's in a street car.

Nope, I believe you . . . did not doubt that is what you ran.
My initial thought was that something might have been wrong. I thought the ET would have been lower with that 60' and mph. I'm sure once the weather breaks and the motor breaks in it will get faster.
The pics look real nice. Which wheels are they, Pro Stars or Telstars? . . .and what size are you running?
I have some shake down runs of my own to do with my 383 soon . . . I'll post when it happens and we can compare.
Good luck,
Pete
