LS1/LT1 Racing Series - Opinions/Input PLEASE

Sure a true bolt-on only class would be cool to see, but as soon as the few "ringers" show up the rest of the field is screwed... not too cool. Also once you put the bot-on LS & LT's together in the same class the average bolt-on LT1 car is really hurting then. I can easily see the indexs being used at this level.

Will you be at Thunder in November? What converter do you have? That is an impresive 60' you got in your sig. I may try to get some grudge races going between some other bolt-on cars during the shootout if you are interested.
A local Mustang series has a great system. Not sure what it's called, but everyone gets three qualifying runs. Using the fastest run, they pair up the closest cars and race heads up. If you run more than a tenth (or maybe it's a couple of tenths) better than your fastest qualifier, you lose. When you lose, you're eliminated. Each sucessive round pairs up the closest pair left. There are four broad classes, the winner in each class is the driver that goes the furthest.
The pairings are regardless of class. You get some interesting races between fast NA cars and PA cars, for example. Mkes for good racing and even a "slow" car can win a couple of rounds. Obviously, the final couple of rounds contain the fastest cars, but it's as good a way to do heads up racing without a complicated system of rules as I have seen.
I hate index racing. Brackets are better, but I still prefer heads up. Of course, the problem with heads up is that in the end, big bucks more radical wins and a street car really can't compete. There is no perfect solution, unless it's racing that has a class for 4,000+lb emissions legal convertibles

problem lies in the rules and how they will be enforced..That will be the ultimate factor on how well the series goes...I to think the bolton, heads cam peeps are reaching to far into rules that fit their particular car...As already said in this post wouldnt take much for someone with the money and know how to totally embarras the fastest bolton/heads cam setup even if their was classes for those cars...coming from someone whos built a car for my brother to run funford in street warrior..I can assure you if a lil 306 ci 5.0 can run low 11's with gt40p heads and max .500 lift..you can only imagine what can be done with the same knowledge in a lt1 and ls1 can do...Whats gonna keep Al Corda from showing up if the money is right? see my point here...

I'll be at the Shootout for sure, however I'll be running in QS/A since I'm now in the middle of doing heads & cam (but I still lookout for the bolt-on peeps)
When I heard rumor of a bolt-on class I was VERY tempted to throw my stock setup back on, LOL. My converter is a Vig 3600 flashing @ 3800. Nothing like an LT1 out the hole!!
