with the mods on the gtp he isn't putting down 300fwhp, hes probably making 230fwhp if he had a smaller pulley the the full size intercooler with supporting mods he would destroy you but you will get him with what he has. ohh i hope your buddy has a built tranny for his gtp or it isn't going to last long at all.

The gtp makes more than 230 from the factory. I think you will still beat him, but he might put up a decent challenge, depending on what the Ported blower gave him and if he has a smaller pulley on it. Id say he is running close to 300 hp but not quite

It won't even be a race. That GTP is heavy, and without a whole lot of money, it wont hook. I own one.

No the GTP isn't makin 230 or more from the factory. They come 240 to the crank and like i said 20% drive train loss is about 192 on the dyno. And yeah i meant to put a period after that. to make 300 to the front wheel he is gonna need 1.9 rockers, 3.0 pulley with supporting mods, and at least a short stack intercooler which are a waste, you mind as well get the full size intercooler. ohh and if you have a stock tranny and you have those mods your gonna granade the tranny in no time.

The GTP weighs like 1 more pound than the camaro and the GTP is a grocery gitter sedan. Best thing about the GTP is it's cheap on insurance. But yeah it will take alittle bit of cash for the GTP to beat the ls1, but when there is a good amount of money put into the GTP it's a fun car because it's a major sleeper.

The difference in weight is around 120 pds.I own a 99 Gtp.Btw w/o lots of suspension mods Gtp,s are hard to hook up.My best 60 ft.w/ mine was 2.22,but yea the 4 dr is definitely a sleeper lol!

how do you figure 120 pounds ? I had 2 99 gtp's one a coupe and the other a 4dr both black. Both had a good amount of money put into them. You have to learn how to launch them they are def tricky to launch.

I was just looking @ a Canada sales brochure for the 99GT sedan & it,s weight showed was 3481.Also my GTP has every option& i have weighed it at the truck stop scale & at the drag strip when i ran.Btw it was 3560& that weight for the GT shown is always the low end(fuel,etc).My 94Z was 3440& that was the # i tried to run @ the strip though i can get it down to around 3370 w/ some weight reduction.

i have a 99 grand prix sales brochure too, i bought it off ebay. I am pretty sure the gtp doesnt weigh 3500 lbs but whatever, idk i dont drive them anymore.
