How many of you guys have Welds, Centerlines, or Cragars'?
 

Im thinking about going with the drag setup. I was wanting to see some pics of a few F bodies with either of these rims on them.

I spoke to a guy at JEGS and he told me you couldnt put a 15'' rim on a F body because of the rotor clearance. I know you can because my buddy has the Weld XP's on with no customizing. Do you guys no the lug sizes to to make these type rims work?

Welds will fit, but require some grinding on the fins. Draglites require more than the Pro Stars though.

Don't run Welds, but I've ran Centerlines(Convo Pro) and now Bogarts(D-10). Both are AWESOME!!! Just watch for potholes.

I'm running Cragar Superlite II series. Pics in sig.

I run Weld Pro Stars. there is NO modification to be done on the front wheels, you just need the correct size spacers. The rears are not complicated, BUT you will need to grind on the "fins" of the brake caliper to get the wheel to clear W/O rubbing. I used a Dremel tool and was done in about 15 min.

what kind of customizing did you guys have to do to get those 15'' wheels to fit on your cars? i called the guys at jegs and they told me they wouldnt fit because of the rims wouldnt clear the break callipers. i know you have to grind those down a bit for clearance, but what else it there and what size spacing did you use?

if i go with 15x6 on the front, what back spacing should i use?
and 15x8 on the back and the back spacing for these?

15" Centerline Convo Pros ... 1.75" BS on the front and 5" BS on the back ... no grinding went right on ...

Thanks man. What is the width on your rims for the front and the rear.

Which convo pros do you have? The drag series or the street series?

4" in the front and 8.5" in the back ... they are the Convo Pro Drag Wheels ... M

Something else to consider. Centerline Convo-Pros, Warriors, etc. are thinner than say Weld Drag Lites, Pro-Stars, etc. If you plan on passing tech at the track, the stud must protrude through the wheel by at least the diameter of the stud. The thicker wheels will require installing longer studs in order to pass tech.

Just for my own 2 cents worth, I think the Centerline Warriors look killer on 4th gens.

98 Formula:
-Pro Stars
-15x3.5 fronts, with 5/16 spacer, no other mods
-15x10 rears, 7x5 backspacing, no spacers, major grinding

Rear draglites are ~12 lbs, Pro Stars are a bit more.

XP's are usually within a lb of stock weight, so ~ 22 lbs. I ran 16x9 XP Draglites a few years ago with 26x11.5x16 ET Streets and they worked great.

Cragars might be really heavy, you need to ask them.

I run Centerline Warriors 15x8.5 rears with 5" backspacing. No mods to make fit. 15x4's up front, no mods.

I'm running the same size rim/spacer combo as Pro Stock John, except I've got the Draglites...

Weld Pro Star XP,s 15x5 front and 15x10 rear bolt right up with no mods and no problems. I went with 5.5 backspace cause I like the getto look :p but you might want to go 6.5 or 7.0
