if anyones in the area come down to the kinston drag strip. i raced a 98 mustang gt, 87 iroc, 03 mustang gt, and a few ricers last time and didnt lose so hopefully ill keep the streak going.

well we might be going again this thursday, what city do you live in? if your anywhere near goldsboro we meet up at the sears parking lot at the berkley mall at 6 then drive down. or you could just meet us, well have my z28 black with blacked out taillights and torq thrust 2's and a black mustang GT.

we ended up going to benton/benson i cant remember how to say it, cause it rained and that one was the only track open. but it was horrible there were like 200 cars racing and i sat in line to race for over an hour. at least at kinston you only sit in line for 4-5 minutes tops.

I live between mount olive and kenansville. If I went I would have to meet you there, but I gotta do a few maintenance items first. So it may be later June or July before I get to go. Got an oil change to do, plugs and wires waiting to go in, I have to replace my exhaust manifold gaskets as well. Nothing major, but time consuming. Between my kid's ball practice/games and weekend plans my wife makes I don't get a lot of time to mechanic like I used to.

we went tonight and i smoked a 5.0, a 98 mustang GT and a 93 firebird. best time was 14.1, still cant get below 14.

Awesome. It's always fun to wipe out everyone at the track on test and tune night! It's even more fun when you pull up to stage, the ricer in the other lane refuses to pull up, and the track official has to walk up to him and tell him he has to race.

I changed my plugs so I'm good to go now. Not that I'd expect to run great, but it's fun.

How much is it to go up there on T&T night and race now?

I know this is an old post and don't know how it got past me but I work at the Kinston drag strip(in the tower). We should be starting test and tune again soon, the owner said he wanted to move it to Saturdays. I'm a die hard LT1 fan from La Grange (10 minutes from Berkely Blvd.) Hope to see you guys there soon.

That'd be cool. I doubt I'll be back with my Z28. I'm looking to get a C5 Vette before the end of the summer. Keep us posted if the date moves. I'll definitely make my way back when I get the Vette. Need to know what kind of times I can get out of it. The best I have gotten out of my Z28 was a 14.8.

Aww man dont give up on the ol Lt1 ha! I really can't blame ya tho. I'm just hoping to get my LE2 heads and cam done before we start test and tune again. Will definitely let ya know when we do.

I love my Z28, but I finally got my wife to agree to letting me get a vette, but the trade off was getting rid of my Z28 and IROC, which is sadly still sitting in the back yard.
